About Mary

I'm Mary George, and I’ve been creating and selling art that radiates joy and positivity since 2017. Here's a little about me:

Home: Atlanta (Brookhaven) is home for me, my husband, our teenage daughter, Isabelle, and our dog, River. My stepson Landon and his lovely wife Hannah live in Marshall, NC and are expecting their first baby in March 2026.

Fun facts:

*Isabelle is a senior in high school and will be attending college in the Fall of 2026.

*Landon is a musician and is in a band called MJ Lenderman - they've just completed an international tour and they'll be opening up for Zach Bryan for several dates in 2026!

*Participated in first artist market in 2017 at St. Brigid's in Roswell.

*I have always been creative and likely should have majored in Advertising, but didn't want to write all the papers in journalism (bad decision!), so switched to Fashion Merchandising at The University of Kentucky.

*Day job: After 2 years in retail after moving to Atlanta, got an Assistant job at Turner Broadcasting (now Warner Bros. Discovery) and have been there ever since. I've been in a non-creative role at Turner/WBD for 31 years - completely operational and management, so art is my much needed creative outlet - turned side hustle.

*Favorite family spots to vacation: Destin, and North Carolina Mountains - and we loved our recent visit back to St. John, USVI

*Favorite workout: Orange Theory (Chamblee)

*Favorite recent shows (somewhat obsessed with streaming content): Ripple and Chad Powers

*Favorite past shows: GoT, Ted Lasso, Schitts Creek, Gilded Age, White Lotus, The Summer I Turned Pretty

Favorite Podcast: Amy Poehler's A Good Hang

*What inspires me: the colors of the beach, florals and interesting color combinations in general, fashion, home magazines (House Beautiful, Atlanta Homes, Veranda). Creativity in general.

*How I tend to paint: Loosely and unplanned - I rarely know what is going to take over the paper or canvas once i start to paint. :)

*Favorite quote (from the movie Babe': “Farmer Hoggett knew that little ideas that tickled, and nagged, and refused to go away should never be ignored, for in them lie the seeds of destiny” – Narrator
